DEATH - MRS LOUISE BANKEMPER SUCCUMBS AT HOME ON WATERWORKS ROAD, NEWPORT.
Mrs. Louise Bankemper, sister of Rev. Louis and Rev. Francis DeJaco, both with
pastorates in Campbell County, died last night at her home at 1130 Waterworks
Road, Newport. She was 50 years of age. She was the wife of Albert Bankemper
and was a life-long resident of Campbell County. Mrs. Bankemper was a member
of the Altar Society of Saint Francis de Sales Church and the Third Order of
Saint Francis. Several of her brothers are widely known Newport painters. Besides
her husband and [those] two brothers, she leaves five other brothers, Fred DeJaco,
Charles DeJaco, George DeJaco, Edward DeJaco, and Anthony DeJaco, all of Newport;
three sons, Albert Bankemper, Jr., and Carl Bankemper, both at home, and Camillus
Bankemper of Cold Springs; three daughters, Miss Antoinette Bankemper and Miss
Florence Bankemper, at home, and Mrs. Victor Scheben of Newport, and four grandchildren.
Father Louis DeJaco is pastor at SS Peter and Paul Church, 12-Mile, and Father
Francis DeJaco is pastor at Saint Mary Church, Alexandria. Arrangements are
being completed by the John J. Radel, Co., Newport funeral directors.
She was buried on 23 Apr 1938 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky at St. Stephen Cemetery. Louise
T. DEJACO Bankemper and Albert Casper (Sr.) BANKEMPER were married on 26 Jun
1907 in St. Stephen Catholic Church in Newport, Kentucky. Witnesses
were Fred DeJaco, Joseph Schierht, and Frank DeJaco; Johanna Bankemper, Alma
Meahe and Freda Thoeny. Rev. Stephen Schmid performed the wedding ceremony.
Albert Casper (Sr.) BANKEMPER148 (son of Bernard Johann BANKEMPER and Marie HAUNERT
Bankemper) was born on 5 Nov 1889 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky.
He was baptized on 7 Nov 1889 in Newport, Kentucky, at Corpus Christi Catholic
Church. He was baptized by Rev. D. B. Bierman; his godparents were
John Caspar Bankemper and Catherine Haunert.
He died on 11 Aug 1945 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky. From

- Albert C. Bankemper, 1139 Waterworks Road, Newport, owner of Rudy's Hamburger
Restaurant in that city, died unexpectedly early Saturday at his home. He was
56 years old. Dr. Ralph Heringhaus, acting Campbell County coroner, said that
death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Bankemper's daughter, Miss Florence
Bankemper, found him dead in bed. In addition to the Newport restaurant, he
operated the Opera Grill in Cincinnati. Mr. Bankemper was a member of the Holy
Name Society of Saint Francis de Sales Church, Newport, and the Third Order of
Saint Francis, Cincinnati. He leaves three sons, Albert Bankemper, operator
of Trudy's Grill, Cold Spring, Camillus Bankemper of Cold Spring, and Carpenters
Mate Second Class - Carl Bankemper, who returned to duty with the Seabees following
a recent furlough in Northern Kentucky; two other daughters, Mrs. Marie Scheben
and Miss Antoinette Bankemper; one brother, Will Bankemper; five sisters, Misses
Emma and Alma Bankemper, Ludlow, Mrs. Joseph Berkemeyer, South Newport, and Mrs.
Catherine Kendall and Mrs. Mayme Stegeman, both of Bellevue, and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements are being completed by the John J. Radel funeral home, Newport.
He was buried on 14 Aug 1945 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky at St. Stephen
Cemetery.
