Josef (Giuseppe) DEJACO124
was born on September 20, 1869 in Campill/Longiarü in Tyrol (Crownland of
Austria) at Seres.
He wrote a letter to his uncle Franz DeJaco in America on February 6, 1898.
He addressed his uncle as "Highly-prized Mr. Godfather", but
stated concern that his letters weren't being answered: "Now to the point!
I always liked you very much and, even though you are far away, I still think
of my dear Godfather in America often. Also in my prayers I think of you often
and pray often times that dear God will keep my dear Godfather healthy and that
He will bless him and his and his father rightly. That is why I cannot believe
that you have forgotten me and ask you please for an answer." He continues:
"But there is something I must still write. I am planning to get married
in the near future. I am very sorry that you will not be able to come to the
wedding. More about this. I will write to you later."
He wrote a letter to his uncle Franz DeJaco in America on May 18, 1923.
He thanked his Godfather for the sent letter and photographs stating: "You
are very blessed to have two priests in your family." He continued:
"Dear Godfather, there will be much happiness if we could see you again.
We are with you and your family in our thoughts. We are busy building a new
home. Our father [Josef Dejaco 1834-1917] is dead. I wondered if you
knew of this. You are still our aunt and uncle. Marianna [Dejaco-Tschaffert
1851-1929] and you are all that's left." He then provided an update
of affairs in Tyrol: "We are under the Italian government. We are all
well and hope you are. Dear Godfather, if we could be together with you again
we would have a lot to talk about. During the war time for three years when
it was very bad. Dear Godfather, when you wrote to me you said you were old
and so am I. I have a white beard. I have eight children. The oldest one
is a daughter [Maria Dejaco 1900-1947] who is 23 years old. Another
time I will send you a picture of the whole family."
He died on August 30, 1933 in Campill/Longiarü, Südtirol (Italy). Josef
(Giuseppe) DEJACO and Filomena IRSARA Dejaco were married on February 7, 1899
in Campill/Longiarü, Tyrol at St. Lucia Church.
Filomena IRSARA Dejaco125 (daughter of Johan Bapt. IRSARA and Marie Magdalena
PLONER) was born on December 23, 1871. She died on October 15, 1959.
Josef (Giuseppe) DEJACO and Filomena IRSARA Dejaco had the following children:
