94. Franz DEJAKO¹³⁶ was born on 25 Oct 1879 in Wolkenstein/Selva in the Gröden Valley. He is shown in the 1903 photograph of the Die Reservistenkolonne Wolkenstein, first row, fourth from left: Hauptmann Tubia Ploner dl Juan (standing), Franz Linder da Culac, Pop Ploner dl Juan, Franzl Dejaco dl Juan, Luis Kasslatter d’Amadio, Lorenz Lardschneider de Ciampac, Moz Senoner dl Plòc.

He sent a letter to his uncle in America on 25 Nov 1927. In his letter he states that "It has been a long time since I have written you. Also, I have not had much opportunity to write because I have not had an address. Sometimes I have the opportunity to enclose a letter with Mr. Moroder." Franz then tells his uncle that his family is having difficulties. "I'm really in a bad situation, it follows me from one year to the next. The work seems to have stopped here and it is hard to make money. The wood carving industry is very weak because of the devaluation of the Lira. Furthermore, my wife [Katharina Rives] had to have an operation. It has been quite a long time since but she is now still ill as a consequence of it. This makes it very hard for me. I did have 10 children. The older ones died, only the two youngest have survived. The one is 9 years old [Albin b1918] and the youngest is 3 years old [Johann b1924]. So I always have big expenses."

He died on 30 Aug 1929 in Wolkenstein/Selva in the Gröden Valley.

Franz DEJAKO and Katharina RIVES were married about 1907.

Katharina RIVES¹³⁷ (daughter of Peter RIVES and Katarina PEZZEI) died on 18 Nov 1928 in Wolkenstein/Selva in the Gröden Valley.
