Ninth Generation
179.
Loretta DEJACO Tenhundfeld was born on 2 Aug 1928.
She was adopted about 1929. From an internet contact from descendent
of the Murphy family, Patricia (Patty) Bjelkholm: I am writing because of
information that my grandparents (deceased) and my mother and aunt (both living)
have repeated over the years. My grandfather John Murphy wrote down our family
tree going back to Ireland. He recorded the names of his brothers and sisters
and spouses. One of his sisters was Leona Anne and she married Mr. Young. They
had several children and lived in northern Kentucky. Unfortunately, Leona became
ill and died leaving her husband with children and an infant. My grandparents
said that Mr. Young said he could take care of the children by himself but not
the baby, so he decided to give baby Loretta to the DeJaco's because they were
a good family and they were a childless couple. My mother said the DeJaco's had
a close relative who was a priest. (We are Roman Catholic). My mother graduated
from Notre Dame Academy in Covington, as did Loretta from the information in
your website. We would like to send our very best regards to Loretta and the
entire DeJaco family. My mother who is in her 90's has said that she always wondered
her entire life about Loretta. My mother and Loretta are first cousins. My mother
no longer travels more than 30 minutes from the house. It appears that Loretta
is in Louisiana? We are in Fort Lauderdale, FL It would be lovely to hear from
you and to learn that Loretta is the matriarch of such a beautiful family.
In 1946, she graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Covington, Kentucky.
She lived at 47023 R Bankston in Hammond, Louisiana. She had lived
in Metairie, Louisianna for years, but hurricane Katrina caused her to move from
there closer to one of her sons. Loretta DEJACO Tenhundfeld and Ralph George
TENHUNDFELD were married about 1947.
Ralph George
TENHUNDFELD (son of Harry TENHUNDFELD and Florence NIEKAMP Tenhundfeld) was
born on 14 Jul 1922.

and Germany. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army. He was awarded
the Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and the French Ribbon with Palm.
