Ruth Oxley Memorial

RUTH M. OXLEY, of 1485 Grand Avenue, passed away 6:55 P.M. Saturday, July 12, 1975 in a Marion nursing home. She was born the daughter of John T. and Emma Cheadle Oxley on May 26, 1885 at Marion. Miss Oxley was a graduate of Marion High School, Coe College, the University of Southern California at Los Angeles, and taught Spanish in Woodrow Wilson High School at Long Beach, California until retiring in 1950. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marion, National Retired Teachers Association, the National Association of Delta Kappa Gamma, Club for Hard of Hearing in Long Beach, and the D. A. R.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Ruth Oxley of Marion; two nephews, George A. Oxley of Cheyenne, Wyoming and John W. Oxley of St. Joseph, Missouri; and two nieces, Mrs. Ji m (Kathleen) Eacutt of Lakewood, California and Mrs. James (Clela) Blankmeyer of Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John Oxley.

SERVICES: 1:30 P. M. Tuesday, July 15, 1975 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, Iowa. Conducted by: Rev. Jay A. Miller. Organist: Mrs. Kenneth Hartung. Interment: Oak Shade Cemetery at Marion
