Will of John Oxley

Whereas I John Oxley of the County of Greene and State of Ohio; being weak in body but of Sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (to wit ?) First I give and ? to my two daughters Louisa and Julia Ann 26 acres of land lot No 3rd part of Robert Kirks Survey No 1336 to be divided equally between them. I do also give and bequeath to my eldest Son Jesse my clock and three Sheep; I also give and bequeath unto my Second Son William three Sheep, three Winsoe chairs my gun and the ten gallon Iron kettle I also give and bequeath to my daughter Louisa my loom and tacklings my cow three Winsor Chairs and one ten gallon iron kettle I also give and bequeath to my grand daughter Lucinda Burr my bureau; I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Mary Jane Burr my large chest I also give and bequeath to my grand daughter Lucinda Oxley my Small chest the Balance of my property I direct to be divided between my five children viz Jesse, William, Louisa, Enos and Julia Ann. I hereby appoint my Son William and Robert Thomas my sole executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal the 11?th day March in the year of our lord one thousand and hundred and thirty Seven. Court of Common Pleas April term 1837 Named John Oxley to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who hereunto Subscribe our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator

The last will and testament of John Oxley late of Said County decd was this day presented to the Court for probate and duly proven by the oath of Robert Thomas and Benjamin White the Subscribing Witnesses thereto and the same is ordered to be ? with the written affidavit of Said Witnesses. And thereupon William Oxley and Robert Thomas the executors appointed in said will personally came into open court and took the affirmation ? the statute and with David Burr and Benjamin White ? securities whom the Court accept entered into bond in the Sum of four hundred dollars conditioned according to law . The Court appoint Aquilla Dorsey, James Shadly and James ?aughey appraisers of the personal property of Said decd.
