Conflicting evidence states that Brittan was born 19 Mar 1755. Brittan
was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in Colerain Twp,
Belmont Co, Oh. The following individual is also linked to this event:
Peter Babb (neighbor). Brittan's will written 10 March 1821 included the
following: Brittain (sic) Oxley of The Township of Colerain Belmount
(sic) county Ohio ... to my wife Elizabeth The Sum Sixty Dollars also her
Choice of a Bed & Suit of beding (sic) Sufficient for Summer & winter and
also a Side Saddle, her chice of a Cow To be kept; and Such parts of my
household & kitchen furniture as She may Deem proper ... I give and
devise unto my Daughter May Dilavon ... the sum of Sixty Dollars ... my
Daugter (sic) Bethamy (sic) Cramlet ... the sum of Sixty Dollars ... my
Daughter ann argo in addition to To what She has had the Sum of Eight
Dollars ... my granson (sic) Brittain Dilaven The Sum of Twenty Dollars
