1.) John Benham and his wife, Nancy, were pioneers of Warren county
(Beers 1054).
2.) Source of middle name: page 3 of MOM! THE THRESHERS ARE COMING!
[1468]
1.) DOB from headstone of John Benham and family, as well as SOURCE#1. SOURCE #1 gives a DOB of 14 Nov 1789, while John Benham'sheadstone indicates 14 Mar 1789. For now, I tend towards the latterdate, as the source for the former date is not indicated. Place ofbirth from SOURCE #1.
2.) SOURCE #1 gives a place of birth as Washington co., PA; while the1880 census for the James F. Dunham household (in which James' motherEliza A. Dunham dwelled) states New Jersey. I would tend to thinkthat SOURCE #1 might be more accurate: even though SOURCE #1 fairlyoften disagrees with dates found in other sources for this Benham
family, the place given is more specific. On the other hand, you'dthink Eliza A. Dunham would have known where her parents had beenborn... Take your pick!
[1472]
1.) Place of death from SOURCE #1. SOURCE #1 gives a DOD of 12 Oct
1863, while John Benham's headstone indicates 13 Oct 1863. For now, I
tend toward the latter date and source, as the source for the former
date is not indicated.
[4249] 1.) Source for date and place of marriage was SOURCE #1.

1.) "Annie Fallon Beedle loved to attend the county fair. [She also]liked to sing and loved to dance. She also helped her neighbors withchildbirth and illness. . . [She] did not attend school as a child, soreading was a problem. But she was the best cook-- all from memory. Her yeast doughnuts were the envy of the entire family. She made themost beautiful pillows, quilts-- all hand-sewn" (PERSONAL NOTES -Laurine Cochran, #1, page 3).
2.) There are several Fallons in the 1870 Warren county census."Fallon" and "Falon" are the only 2 spellings found in the census; Idon't know whether those spellings are the original Irish spellings orAmerican bastardizations.
3.) ". . .Anna [sic] Fallon of County Galway, on Galway Bay, Ireland. She came to Cin[cinnati] after a long voyage and a long illness--justafter Lincoln's assassination. She came to Cin[cinnati] where she wascared for by a family until she was able [old enough?] to baby-sit.Later, she worked in [a] restaraunt where she became an expert cook, and later married Elias Beedle, who lived on Rt. 48 (the house is nowstanding) [not any more (1997), I don't think--John Pelz. I believethe house referred to is the cabin on Dry Run, just outside SouthLebanon, and the one of which Frank Beedle made a model, & that waskept upstairs in the "Big House"]. He took produce to Cin[cinnati] tosell 2 or 3 times a week" (NOTES #6).
4.) The original Irish spelling of this surname is "Folan." Folanswere almost exclusively inhabitants of county Galway.
5.) E. James Cochran recalls that Mary Ann Fallon's Irish brogue wasso thick, that it was often very difficult to understand what she wassaying!
[318]
1.) The YOB for Mary Ann Fallon given on her headstone disagrees withthat of the YOB given for her in CENSUS RECORD #10: 1853 and 1850,respectively. Take your pick! (CENSUS RECORD #10 gives November asthe month of birth.)
2.) Exact DOB from death certificate of Mary Ann (Fallon) Beedle.
[322]
1.) Exact DOD and place of death from death certificate of Mary Ann(Fallon) Beedle.
2.) According to D. Jean Pelz, Rena Cochran says that Mary Ann Fallondied in the home of her son, Frank Beedle, with whom she lived at thetime. Frank lived in the house next to John and Edna Beedle.
