[2120] 1.) Peter Benham "settled in Newport, KY., in the winter of 1793 and1794, where he resided one year, when he returned to Pennsylvania,where he died in 1799" (History of Warren County 1050).
2.) "Peter Benham removed with his family to the present site ofNewport, KY., in the winter of 1793-94, where he stopped on a tract ofland belonging to Capt. Robert Benham. The next year, Peter Benhamreturned to Pennsylvania on business and died there, leaving inKentucky his widow and five children" (History of Warren County 713).
3.) There is a discrepancy in the number of children that PeterBenham and his wife had. On page 713 of "History of Warren County" itis stated that there were five children: James, John, Peter, and twodaughters. On page 1050, however, 6 children are mentioned: Robert,James, Peter, John, Ann and Martha, the discrepancy being Robert. Onpage 1054, a John Benham and his wife, Nancy, are mentioned, and aredescribed as "pioneers of Warren county." Their daughter, Eliza,married John E. Dunham in 1835.

[2123] 1.) DOD given by SOURCE #1 and page 1050 of Beers disagree: 1795 and
1799, respectively. The latter gives a place of birth of Bedford, PA;
the former, Washington co., PA. Although present-day Bedford is in
Bedford co., the town may have been in Washington county, circa 1795.
A little research might straighten this out.
