1.) John Parkhill was a member of the Associate Reformed Church, and
was the father of 15 children (History of Warren County 632).
2.) In the winter of 1796-1797, John Parkhill settled in present-day
Twenty Mile Stand, OH, with Jeremiah Morrow and Thomas Espy, "enduring
the privations of camp life in a wilderness in a winter of unusual
severity" (History of Warren County 361).
[2606]
1.) According to page 160 of "Adams County Church Records of the 18th
Century," John Parkhill was baptized on 14 Nov 1770; I assume he was
born a little earlier. An approximate date as this disagrees with an
approximate DOB inferred from Parkhill's headstone at Union Cemetery,
Hamilton county, OH, but only by 5 months. (Approximate DOB inferred
from headstone being April 1771.) I feel an approximate DOB inferred
from "Adams County Church Records" to be more accurate.
