1.) I suspect that either the DOB for Maria Rosina AHNERT or Johann
Gottlieb AHNERT, as given in LDS microfilm batch #7220907 (sheets #56
& 62, respectively) are incorrect, or that their father, Georg Ahnert,
was married more than once. The DOB given for Maria Rosina is 18 Nov
1780, and the DOB for Johann Gottlieb is 30 June 1780, a difference of
less than 5 months.

1.) As of 23 Mar 1997, I have queried the following helplists forcensus and/or marriage info on Elias Beedle; results were negative.R.Shawhan-- Morris county, NJ; Delano-- NJ Marriages (1665-1800) (acopy of which is located at the Warren county courthouse). In ane-mail from Shawhan, date 3/13/1997, subj: Elias Beedle, Shawhanstated that several BEEDLEs appear in other counties, such asMonmouth, Sussex, and Middlesex.
His message reads: "After searching thru numerous files onBEEDLE, BEDEL, and BEADLE the only Elias I found was a reference toElias BEEDLE having a will probated in 1882 in Mercer County, NJ.Other Morris Co. BEEDLES were Steven and Ezekial BEEDLE serving in themilitia in 1793 and Hannah BEEDLE, a. 39, wi[ife] of William, dying onSept. 17, 1812. A Wm. MEEDLE m. Hannah Sutton on March 17, 1798 inMorristown and Wm. m. Abigail Hill on Nov. 4, 1813 in Morristown. Taxlists in the 1795 time frame show Elizabeth, Jacob, and John BEEDLEliving in Chatham, Morris County. There are several BEEDLES shown inother counties, such as Monmouth, Sussex, and Middlesex.
"BEDELLs incl. wills listed for Abraham, 1836; Daniel, 1768,;Eliza J. 1893; Eliz. 1825; Henry, 1890; Jacob, 1768; John, 1759; andSamuel, 1864. Early census records show William and Henry in 1771 andJacob in 1749 [in Morris county?]. I saw no record of a marriage forElias."
When I wrote Shawhan, I queried a marriage record for Elias, specifically (and only) in Morris county.
2.) As of December 2005, I have no definitive proof that Francis wasthe father of Elias Beedle. Numerous records indicate thatpossibility, however. (Such sources include the 1803 Hamilton co., OHmarriage record of Elias B. to Martha Hathaway; the fact that Francisserved as substitute in the Revolutionary War for Martha's father,Nathan; a June 1811 Warren co., OH land-deed from Francis Beedle toElias Beedle; family naming practices over several generations;Richard McNemar, who performed the 1803 marriage of Elias to Martha, led most of the Turtlecreek Presbyterian Church in 1805 [incl. Francisand certain family members] to Shakerdom at nearby Union Village.)
[707] 1.) Elias and Martha Beedle were originally buried in the OldPresbyterian graveyard (Beers 474). According to Beers, thisgraveyard was established in Sept. 1806, when Jonathan Tichenor andAbner Smith, as Trustees of the Presbyterian Church at Lebanon, inconsideration of $40, purchased of John Shaw a lot, which is now[circa 1881] in the western part of Lebanon. This lot became known asthe Old Presbyterian Graveyard. In 1906, the graveyard was sold tothe village of Lebanon, and in 1907, most of the remains interredthere were removed to the Lebanon Cemetery. ("Historic Lebanon...23).That is where Martha and Elias now rest.
[712] 1.) I found this citation at the Miami Valley, OH, Genealogical Indexon the Internet. I need to see the actual source.
[714] 1.) I think it was distant Beedle cousin Jean Johnson of Monroe, Ohiowho once wrote to me in an e-mail that this Elias Beedle was alwaysknown in her family as "Charley." A Charley Beedle appears in the FHCIGS; a Charley Beedle who roughly follows the profile of "my" EliasBeedle, but the documentation on this particular Charley Beedle is notparticularly impressive or compelling.
