[1017] 1.) "Major John Morrow, oldest child of Governor Morrow, was born
November 28, 1800, in what is now Warren county, Ohio. His education
was picked up in the log school-house of the pioneers. On March 14,
1822, he married Nancy Espy, daughter of Thomas Espy, who came from
Pennsylvania to Ohio in the year 1796. Miss Espy was born November
25, 1798, in Warren county, Ohio.
"The children of Major John Morrow were as follows: Paulina, born
July 6, 1823, deceased; David, born October 29, 1825; Elizabeth, born
December 18, 1827; Jeremiah, born February 18, 1830, deceased; Mary,
born September 16, 1832, deceased; William F. and Thomas, twins, born
March 18, 1835; Josiah, born August 26, 1838; George, born October 19,
1840.
"Mr. John Morrow was Justice of the Peace of his Township for six
years, and Major in the State militia for some seven years. He has
also been repeatedly elected Township Trustee. He has taken a great
interest in educational matters, and for quite a number of years
served as School Director. The Major is small in stature, weighs
about one hundred and twenty pounds, possesses a genial, social
nature, is very modest in his manners, and is one of the most esteemed
citizens of his community, in which he has resided for three quarters
of a century.
"David and George are engaged in the publishing business; George
in Chicago, and David in Madison, Wisconsin. Thomas is carrying on
the fruit trade near Spring Lake, Michigan. William is a mechanic in
Springfield, Ohio. Elizabeth is living with her parents upon the
homestead" (Everts' 1875 Atlas of Warren County, page 18.5; contained
in The Combined Atlases of Warren County).

[1020] 1.) According to page 18.5 of L.H. Everts' 1875 "Combination Alaska
Map of Warren county, OH," (contained in the "Combined Atlases of
Warren County"), John Morrow was born in what is now Warren county,
near, I assume, Twenty Mile Stand, which formerly was in Hamilton
county.

[4195] 1.) Exact date of marriage from page 18.5 of Everts' 1875 Atlas of
Warren county, which is contained in the "Combined Atlases of Warren
