RAAMUS is an cultural ideology and was founded
in 1985 by Dr. Ken Ghee (G), Associate Professor
of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati.
Our purpose is to establish a mental, spiritual, &
cultural bond between all responsible African-American people. Continuing
in the legacy of our fore-fathers, we are concerned and dedicated to the
economic, psychological, intellectual and spiritual growth of African-American
people.
RAAMUS Warriors are intelligent,
culturally conscious African-American men who are bound together in mind
and spirit. Through RAAMUS we work as a functional Network for the dissemination
of ideas and information as we search for viable solutions to our mutual
concerns.
We each share a number of commitments and obligations
to each other and to all African-American people. These obligations include:
* Taking a personal oath to proclaim the 7

* Serving as a positive role model and inspiration to
all African-Americans to augment and facilitate cultural pride, individual
responsibility and collective achievement.
*. Working through both established & new community
organizations to provide leadership and commitment to the established collective
goals of the organization.
* Keeping abreast of current national and international
events that effect the present and future of African-Americans, and helping
to educate one another as to the significance and implications of these
events.
* Helping to educate people of other ethnic groups as
to the true nature and strength of the African American male character
through intelligent and progressive dialogue and positive social and spiritual
exchange.
* Advocating both publicly and privately the 7
Founding Principles of RAAMUS as a mandate to the moral and cultural
consciousness of all African-American people.
HOW CAN YOU BECOME A WARRIOR

* RAAMUS Warriors are dedicated
brothers who, in their own personal and professional lives, promote the
RAAMUS Ideology and who are linked to the RAAMUS Network.
* RAAMUS Warriors fight RACISM
AND IGNORANCE regardless of race, creed or color and promote cultural
identity, intellectual and spiritual growth.
* RAAMUS Warriors are linked
intellectually and culturally to other positive brothers and sisters (outside
of RAAMUS) who, like us, are working individually & collectively to
empower African America.
* RAAMUS warriors, are encouraged to join
(or develop) local afrocentric organizations in their community that serve
the needs of the people and to actively promote the RAAMUS Ideology and
our proud African American Heritage.
* RAAMUS warriors are taught to respect
themselves, to respect
our women, and to respect our elders in language,
deed and manner.
