The
Minyan
Dedicated in march of 2001 in remembrance of my parents, Minnie and murray miller.
"The Minyan" represents the tradition of 10 Jews gathering to say the memorial prayer, Kadish. The sculpture consists of ten functional seating locations. Each one includes a Judaic symbol in the upper left "heart" area of the seat.
"The Minyan" is used by Congregation Adath Israel for outdoor services, quiet reflection and social gathering. Children find the child sized seats to be a recognition of their inclusion in the congregation and its activities.
Congregation Beth Adam - Torah Ark
In September, 2001 Congregation
Beth Adam dedicated its new home.
I had the honor of creating
the Torah ark doors, fabricated from laser cut brushed stainless steel.
I am also completing a parapet sculpture for the building's exterior and the N'er Tamid. (The picture below shows the sculpure under construction. More pictures to be posted later). The picture below, right, is of me (on the right) with Mark Davis, past President of Congregation Beth Adam, and the ceremonial groundbreaking shovel I forged or stainless steel foe the event.
