Old Northwest Historical Society

The Old Northwest Historical Society is an educational organization dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the history of the Old Northwest Territory. This is the region northwest of the Ohio river that became the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinios, Michigan, and Wisconsin. After the close of the American Revolution, the Northwest territory became the focus of the first western land rush. We remember those brave pioneers and American Indians who fought for the land and made our country what it is today.

If you are interested in the exploits of Daniel Boone, Simon Kenton, George Rogers Clark, Gen. Anthony Wayne, Arthur St. Clair, Tecumseh, Little Turtle, or want to learn more historical about the Shawnees, Miamis, Wyandots, or Delaware, or other Native American tribes that inhabitited the area known as the Old Northwest territory (to the settlers), you'll enjoy our group.

PLEASE NOTE:  THE OLD NORTHWEST HISTORICAL SOCIETY DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO GENEALOGICAL RECORDS, TAX ROLLS,  ETC.  WHILE WE APPRECIATE THE THOUGHT OF YOU WANTING TO HAVE THE ONHS HELP IN SEARCHING FOR YOUR ANCESTORS, WE CANNOT HELP.  THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

The TECUMSEH CLUB

The Tecumseh Club mission statement is to help raise awarness towards the Shawnee and honor their history in Ohio.   The Tecumseh Club is a member organization of the Old Northwest Historical Society and works under their guidance.
