The ALL OHIO SCANNER CLUB is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to sharing information and improving the hobby of monitoring radio communications. The AOSC newsletter is staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers who work together to publish a top notch information exchange and reference source for our members.
The AOSC was founded in 1979 by a scanner enthusiast who wanted to aid in bringing together people interested in the same hobby and to share information such as frequencies, codes, and technical knowledge that is helpful to the hobbyist. Since then, the AOSC has grown to include nearly a thousand members in over 40 States and Canada, and the newsletter has grown from a mimeographed single sheet to newsletters averaging 40 pages or more that are professionally printed and bound.
The ALL OHIO SCANNER CLUB publishes an information exchange newsletter, called the "AMERICAN SCANNERGRAM", every two months for club members. The newsletter includes regional public safety columns covering all of Ohio, plus Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia..Other columns include subjects of special interest such as aviation, railroads and other modes of transportation; shortwave utilities; and two no-holds-barred columns covering Federal Government and the U. S. Military services. Many of these columns of "special interest topics" provide information that is of use nationwide. Also included are occasional columns that help the beginners in the scanning hobby, including topics about antennas and other improved reception techniques, and other subjects that are technical in nature, also new licenses from the files of the FCC; shortwave broadcast; new products and book reviews; and other special features. All of these columns utilize information sent in by members such as yourself. We are an all volunteer organization - no one receives payment for material written for our publication.
The cost of membership in the ALL OHIO SCANNER CLUB is $24.00 per year ($30.00 for Canadian and Mexican residents, $42.00 for all other countries), payable in U.S. Funds. All newsletters are mailed by First Class Mail (Air Mail Outside the USA). Membership dues are non-refundable. A newsletter sample copy is available for $3.00 ($5.00 for Canada and Mexico, $7.00 for all other countries). Your membership will begin with the next regular mailing of the club newsletter, and will expire after you have received six issues. We print the American Scannergram every other month. Issues are currently mailed by First Class Mail the last week of February, April, June, August, October, and December.

The AOSC hosts a booth for all Association of North American Radio Clubs at the Dayton Hamvention in Dayton Ohio each year on the third weekend of May, and also participates in the Winter SWL Festival in Kulpsville, PA the second weekend of March every year. At the Dayton Hamvention, The AOSC co-sponsors a forum for shortwave and scanner listeners. A social gathering and meeting for AOSC members is also scheduled each year during each of these events.
