Several departments in
Campbell
County are making use of some of the 800mhz frequencies licensed to
campbell
County
for a small EDACS trunked system.
MDT's are also supported by the system.
So far, only Alexandria and
Dayton
have talk groups on the system. Look for more to be added as
departments
start subscribing
to the MDT service.

Begining July 8,2002, all Police and Fire dispatches
will
be handled by the new Campbell County Dispatch Center, located in the
Newport City Building. Newport and Ft Thomas will cease
dispatching.
They will, however, still be dispatched on thier own
(old) frequencies. So the only diference you will notice will be the
dispatchers
voice.
At that time, they also began
using
a new numbering system.
Thanks to Joe Eggemeier, I now
have that numbering system complete.

On July 1st, Bellevue and
Dayton's
fire departments merged to form the new entity called
the Fire Department of Bellevue
and Dayton. FDBD will be governed by a fire board consisting
of 2 council members from each
city and 1 resident-at-large from each city.
FDBD will use the 200 series of
unit numbers. 500 series will no longer exist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cold Spring and Highland
Heights
Fire Departments have merged
forming a new entity called
"Central
Campbell County Fire Department".
Cold Spring is station 1,
Highland
Hgtsis station 2.
The sub-station that Highland
Heights
had at the city
building (1 pumper) on John's
Hill
Road is no more. The truck was moved to
the Highland Heights
station.
This happened effective July 1.
This new dept. will continue
to
use the same unit designations (ie. 400 and
700) to denote the units in each
station. Their ambulances are "Squad 1"
(Cold Spring) "Squad 2" (High
Hgts)
and "Squad 3" (Cold Spring Reserve).
