Tarcisius
 |
Third-fourth century layman or deacon (sources vary) and martyr. While taking Communion to prisoners, Tarcisius was attacked by a pagan mob, and died defending the Host. It is said that when the pagans searched him after beating him to death, there was no trace of the Sacrament.
