Jesus Decoded

For the parish centennial, a memorial plaza was created along Fort Thomas Avenue. Trees and plantings set off a central area with a life-size bronze statue of Christ, the Good Shepherd, in the company of two children. The surrounding brick plaza is engraved with memorials to our far-reaching parish family. A sweeping white trefoil set into the bricks recalls the Holy Trinity, and memorial gifts of garden benches and plantings grace the plaza and the church exterior.

Another centennial gift hangs below the choir loft, a large oil painting of Pope John Paul II by Bellevue artist Douglas Mellor, which captures the spirit of courage and love that have marked this papacy.
