For the 1952 Golden Jubilee, the church's clear panes were replaced with stained glass. Monsignor Hillenmeyer was pleased to find American craftsmen who could meet his criteria ("Make the windows as light as is keeping with true artistry -- not too dark yet not too washy"), and the result was rich color, a brilliant blend of bright and deep tones.
