Scott's Career |
I graduated with my Master of Physical Therapy degree from Wichita State University (go Shockers!) in 1996, and practiced for two years in skilled nursing after graduation. |

I think I have the best job in the world. Don't get me wrong--some days there's plenty to complain about--it's just that I enjoy interacting with people and am compassionate and creative. I love being able to help my patients get better, and to see their progress. It truly is an amazing feeling to help someone get back to doing the things they enjoy. |
I accomplished a major professional goal when I completed the NDT/Bobath Three-Week course in Adult Hemiplegia, under the tutelage of Waleed Al-Oboudi. It has changed forever the way I practice, and I recommend it for any therapist who works with those with strokes. |
Currently, I work as a physical therapist at an acute rehabilitation hospital in the Cincinnati area. I see people with various diagnoses, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, joint replacement, multiple sclerosis, and cardiopulmonary disorders. |
I enjoy teaching, and take a couple of physical therapy students each year. But the majority of my job entails teaching patients as well. I think that a large part of my job satisfaction comes from helping someone else learn. |
