There is no question that navel piercings are among the most popular piercings
being done today. Navel piercings have the longest healing period of the
traditional piercings. To be successfully pierced the navel must be a pronounced
"innie" with an easily clamped portion of skin around the navel. People
with "outies", unfortunately, will have to pass on this piercing. Navels
are most commonly pierced along the top, either straight up and down or leaned
off to one side. Leaning a ring off to the side tends to making healing
easier as it is less likely to be iritated by clothes and anything else that bumps
into your navel. You will need to wear clothing during your healing period
that leaves your navel as open as possible.
