Positive Twitch Augmentation

Positive twitch augmentation is a system by which the population of fast-twitch muscle fibers is greatly increased relative to slow-twitch fibers. The result is a muscular system tuned to respond in a rapid and dynamic fashion. Every level of positive twitch augmentation confers a bonus to athletics skills which primarily utilize fast-twitch fibers (for example, running and jumping). Other bonuses are provided as seen below.

At the upper levels of modification it is important to note that some loss of strength actually occurs due to the extensive nature of muscular fiber replacement. Muscle response can also become jerky and erratic in appearance.

Positive twitch augmentation is compatible with muscle augmentation and muscle replacement.

[If you're adding muscle fibers, why do you LOSE strength? If anything, you should gain it. This augmentation makes no sense to me.]

Suzi Q

[Drek, what a surprise! You always WERE a wallflower!]

Jaxx

[Slot it, Jaxx, before I slot you.]

Bingo

[Actually, Suzi, you're not adding muscle fiber. You're only replacing slow-twitch fibers with fast-twitch fibers. Although fast-twitch fibers respond much quicker, they have less strength overall than slow-twitch fibers. That's why you "lose" some strength]

Alice

[What's a wallflower?]
