DiceRoller

DiceRoller in action!DiceRoller is the only program you need to take care of your dice rolling needs. It is an excellent stand-alone dice roller primarily configured for Shadowrun usage. If you'll look at the sample shot of DiceRoller, though, you'll see that it can function for just about any game you can think of! Open-ended rolling, failure and success determination, up to 100 dice, and the ability to randomly drop or keep rolls make this the dice roller to keep on your desktop.

If you're a programmer/developer, DiceRoller will appeal to you doubly. DiceRoller has a fully programmable ActiveX interface, so you can integrate it into any application you may have or want to write! Forget about redundant code just to generate some random numbers. Put DiceRoller to work for you now!

There are three different downloads for DiceRoller. The first is simply the executable (for those of you out there who have Visual Basic 5.0 and/or its associated runtime DLLs). The second download is for those of you who want the full installation and are sure that you don't have the necessary runtime components. The third download is a short description of the ActiveX interface (if you're a programmer and want to try to implement DiceRoller in your own programs).

If you aren't sure whether you have the Visual Basic 5.0 runtime components, I'd suggest trying the first download before going for the full installation. The executable download is 320k, but the whole installation (with runtime) is 1.5 meg. 320k downloads a bit quicker than 1.5 meg, so it might be worth your time to see if you can get the executable to run.  If DiceRoller returns an error (missing DLLs, particularly MSVBVM50.DLL), you'll need the full download.
