BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE
Contact: Fr. Pat
The members of this support group respond on behalf of our community to help the family when a death occurs. The pastor meets with the family for liturgy planning, and members of the committee serve as Greeters and Servers; and when necessary as Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers, for the funeral service. This committee also provides follow up ministry and visits at Christmas and Easter. A special program is provided each year around All Souls Day at all of the Masses that weekend. If you would like to help with this special ministry, please contact Fr. Pat

SOUP KITCHEN
Staff Contact: Linda Smith
As part of our community outreach, our parish serves one meal a month at the Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen. Sponsored by our Social Action Commission, volunteers carpool to the soup kitchen on Gilbert Avenue, usually on the last Saturday of the month, and prepare, cook, and serve a meal to the residents. The interaction with and service to our brothers and sisters in need is a wonderful experience for individuals and families. The Parish also provides financial assistance of $300 a month to cover the cost of two additional meals.. Sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin boards at the church entrances two weeks prior to the soup kitchen date.

St. Vincent de Paul Society is a lay organization of volunteers who answer the calls for assistance that are received by our Parish Office.
Individuals are given assistance with food, rent, utility bills, clothing, and other basic needs. The clients are interviewed by our members to assess their needs. The work of St. Vincent de Paul Society is sustained by the generosity of our parish through our food drives and our fifth Sunday collection.
