Welcome...
|
Alright. I finally done it. I updated my webpage. Finally!
Ok, I am cheating right now. I only removed the links that were no longer
valid. I am fairly confident that I will be adding more content in the
near future; I just am not making any statements based upon the time frame.
I will try to add a few things that will make it some
what worth your while for clicking on this link. Well, at least make it
a bit more worth while than a "Welcome to your new webpage" or "under construction"
messages.
If you have any suggestions that I could put to good use,
I would very much be indebted to you for taking the time to share with
me. Likewise, if you see something that you have questions about, drop
me an eMail, and I'll try to answer it. |
Links that are worth Following:

Jane Heidrich has been an artist working in oils for quite
a while. She has painted many locations in the US including Canada. On
July 4th, 2001, she had a show in which she featured some of her painting
of Seascapes. I took pictures of the paintings and created a very simple
website to house them. The location of these paints are of both Maine and
Nova Scotia. For the lighthouse paintings, I provided some links to a few
websites to present additional information about lighthouses in general
and specifically about the one in question.
The purpose of this link is not to sell any paintings,
although any inquiries would be welcome, but solely for the sake of enjoyment.
I am sorry that I have not updated the information as to which painting
have been sold. I also would like to apologize for low resolution images
(some are large format) and that my digital camera was not able to always
correctly capture all of the true vibrant colors.

This free website is great if you are about to move. It
can switch over all of your utilities for you so you don't have to worry
about contacting all those companies. Yes, it does the news paper, cable,
and Internet to just name a few.

This is a young users group in the Cincinnati area, but
it has a large membership base. The vast majority of the users and meetings
are based upon IBM's AS/400. If you do not know what an AS/400 is, it might
be worth checking out the links to the IBM web page. After all, it is the
business computer of choice for major businesses (IBM, Coke, Lens Crafters,
Kroger, etc..). Also, I should mention that there is a link to Dilbert,
which may be worth following all in itself. One word about the webserver;
be patient, it is slow, but it works.

Everything you need to know about the Cincinnati Ski Club.
Update: OK so the URL has been changed. I will
try to get that fixed. Sorry.

Have you ever wondered who has been around for the longest?
Well, that is for computer stores. Check out this site, you may be surprised
at the date when this store first opened; especially if you are familiar
with the PCs that were being sold back then. Yes, custom built CPM based
computers, even with an eight inch disk drive! When I say custom built,
I mean the power supplies were hand built and the mother boards were also
hand assembled. I do not think this site currently has any online information
about the first systems built. I did see some of them, and the size, weight,
and statistics were impressive compared to current computers on the market
today. One thing I must say is that they provide a level of expertise that
is very hard to find in stores today.

The Cincinnati Reds' Web Page. Not bad.

Remember Bell Labs? Did you know that they spun off into
a new division (not sure the details) name Lucent Technologies? This web
site is theirs. If you have ever been interested in maps, this is the web
site for you! You do need to register to take full advantage of the features,
since there is no other way the system could possibly keep track of all
the customizations that you are allowed to make. Features: Define map size
in pixels, generate directions on how to get from point A to point B including
lane changes, define what degree of information you want to see on your
maps, define personal points of interests, and etc... Yes, this is one
site you can use to define what a good site should provide.
Update: Ok things have changed. The website is
the same, but Lucent is not the owner anymore. It is now owned by Switchboard.

Do you want to know what your old car is worth? How would
you like to find out what that new car would be like with different combinations
of options? Check out this site, and start saving your pennies.

This must be one of the best Business Yellow Pages on
the Internet! Not only can you key in on a Business Category, but the search
results will give you the address, phone number, show you a map of the
area, a Welcome message, Driving Directions to get there, Hours of Operation,
any Special Offers currently available, a review of the store, and results
of votes on the location. Naturally, due to the large number of entries,
not all of the options are available, except for the Map. One item you
do have control over, is voting. This is a good way to indicate excellent
service and products, or to warn your fellow shoppers to keep clear!
Update: The URL still works, but the name has changed.

Got some time to kill? Do you enjoy a few tidbits that
can give you something to think about for quite some time? Check out this
site, I think you will find it interesting to say the least. The only area
I have had a chance to explore was the moon topic.
Update: The website is still there, but there has
been tons of new stuff added. Every once in awhile I would just checkout
a new topic and it is very fascinating the amount of information and the
variety.

Not feeling well anymore? Does it feel like you have lost
that keen edge you remember having about five years ago? Do your arms or
legs feel slightly numb at times? If you eat or drink anything with NutraSweet
or MSG, you just may want to follow this link. After all, sometimes the
corporate dollars can influence more than what you may expect. If
you thought that the above link contained a good amount of information,
check out this link, for it contains even more.
Update: This website is still in existence but
it also has a bunch of new stuff too. Can you find the link on this website
that points back to my page? I noticed they put the link in about 3 years
ago and it is still listing my site as #7. I really don't think that means
my bare bones website is the 7th highest contributor to people following
the links to their page. I would like to thank them for even putting me
in their listing. I am honored.

Version History of My Web Page:
Version 4:
I realized that things needed to change. Two of my former
companies that I have worked for are no longer in existence due to the
down turn in the technical sector. I am glad I did not waste my time 2
years ago to update the company name for which I worked for since it did
not last and I would only be changing it now anyway. I am now a professional
Java Developer and I have been thinking it would be nice to prove that
I can do something with HTML.
Creation Date: November 6, 2001 (has it really been that long since
v3?)
Creation Time: 1.5 Hours
HTML Scripting Experience: Tons... it's just another simple scripting
language.
Version 3:
I created a multi-column page with a table of contents
on the left hand side. I done this mostly through manually typing in the
html script to try and get a better understanding of how everything works.
At this point in time, I have about 2.5 hours of total experience with
html scripting. Check it out!
Creation Date: April 1, 1997
Creation Time: 1.5 Hours
HTML Scripting Experience: about 3.5 Hours
Version 2:
I added a few links, the guest book, and email.
Creation Date: March 31, 1997
Creation Time: 45 Minutes
HTML Scripting Experience: 50 Minutes
