Swatch Swap   Entry form

The Swatch Swap is a great way to get involved in the conference regardless of your skill level. Exchanging swatches will provide you with interesting examples to spark your imagination and add to your sample collection.

Categories:

  • Spinning/Dyeing
  • Lace Weaves
  • More Than 4
  • 4-H Color/Weave effect
  • Name Draft. Draft only to encourage experimentation.
Participants will prepare 26 samples:
  • 4"-squares for weaving swaps
  • 1-yard skeins for spinning and for dyeing swaps
  • a draft for drafting. (For assistance on the name draft, see "How to Weave Name Drafts" by Christina Hammel, Handwoven, Nov/Dec 1997.)
One of your samples will be included in the conference Swatch Swap Notebook that will be added to the Midwest Weavers' Library for checkout to all members.

Guidelines:

  • The official exchange information sheet with appropriate spinning and dyeing swatch forms and weaving drafts will be mailed to you on receipt of your entry form.
  • You may enter as many categories as you wish.
  • Participants will be responsible for making any needed photocopies from the original official recording forms they receive.
  • Mail the Swatch Swap entry form found in this booklet with a self-addressed, stamped envelope by June 1, 1999, to: Peg Dawson; 1738 N. Gerrard Drive; Speedway, IN 46224.
