S207 CHENILLE SHENANIGANS. Class is closed. Saturday Afternoon Mini-Session, 2:00 – 4:30 Chenille ("caterpillar" in French) is a favorite fiber of the fashion industry these days and no wonder. It's caressing, comforting and comes in flattering, heavenly colors. Fabric woven of chenille drapes beautifully and looks and feels glamorous. Rayon and cotton chenille create quite different hands and both can be combined with fabric strips. In this seminar, you will see samples and demonstrations and learn a variety of tricks useful in working with chenille from designing to finishing, including how to keep the fringe from "worming." You can plan a simple wearable or accessory and make a taped mock-up in class, weaving and finishing it at home. Supplies: Paper; scissors; scotch tape; pencil
with eraser.
