M504 WEAVER'S TOTE 99
Suzanne, a native Hoosier,
began weaving baskets in 1981 when she attended a workshop sponsored by
the Brown County Spinners & Weavers Guild. She has taken classes from
master weavers at various conventions and workshops, but is basically self-taught.
She has taught basketweaving in several states; in Indiana, she teaches
a series of classes on a continual basis. Suzannes baskets were featured
in a month-long exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Her baskets
have been accepted in many juried fairs and have won several awards. She
was featured in the February 1989 issue of Midwest Living magazine about
local craftsmen. Generally her baskets are of basic form, using mostly
natural reed. She adds decorations and hand dyed reed to create original
patterns and unique designs.
