at the 1990 Midwest Weavers’ Conference and has taught at every MWA conference
since then, as well as for numerous other conferences, guilds and schools
in the U.S. and Canada. An editorial assistant for Spin-Off magazine and
editor of the “Communique” column for Handwoven magazine, she has published
more than 50 articles in fiber, textile and craft journals. She has been
weaving for more than 25 years and enjoys a wide range of fiber-and textile-related
interests.

S111 ESCAPE FROM THE TIME WARP Saturday Morning Mini-Session, 9:00 – 11:30 Do you avoid weaving because you dread warping your loom? You don't need four hands or a sectional beam to warp efficiently! Here are tips and simple loom adaptations to increase speed and accuracy and reduce the drudgery, no matter which warping method you prefer. A demonstration of back-to-front warping is included. S211 WRINKLE-RESISTANT HANDWOVENS Saturday Afternoon Mini-Session, 2:00 – 4:30 It is possible to weave fabrics that resist wrinkling, even if you're working with cotton and linen. This session, illustrated with numerous swatches, will give you a good understanding of the factors involved: fiber, yarn, weave structure, beat, sett, and finishing method. Learn how to design practical, easy-care textiles. Supplies: None.
You, too, can become an itinerant weaver and travel to teach for guilds and conferences. Learn how to get on the teaching circuit and stay there. We’ll discuss preparing a resume, application procedures, advertising and publicity, health concerns, ethics and behavior, teaching fees and more. Supplies: Note-taking materials.
