currently lecturing at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South
Wales in Sydney. She has exhibited and lectured extensively throughout
Australia and America since establishing her weaving studio in 1984. Her
studio produces a range of fine wool wraps and scarves, well known for
their beautiful color combinations, interesting textures and unusual structures.

W11 THE WOVEN SCARF Pre-Conference Workshops, July 13-15 This workshop will look at scarves-what they are, what they represent, how to design them, unusual designs, ways of weaving, etc. Textured, plain, crinkle, soft, striped, double-layer, colored, felted and ruched are some of the ways to weave scarves. This class will explore how weave structures, color, yarns and finishes can be combined to create a diverse range of cloth suitable for wearing as wraps and scarves. Suitable for weavers interested in small scale studio production. Supplies: 4- or 8- shaft loom (table or floor-floor is most appropriate for students interested in studio production ); warping instructions are sent in advance of workshop; all normal weaving supplies.
S224 THE WOVEN SCARF Saturday Afternoon Mini-Session, 2:00 – 4:30 This seminar explores scarves woven with plain, simple, straightforward weave structures using a variety of yarn combinations, yarn types and different finishing processes to produce appealing, practical, textured and interesting scarves. Supplies: None.
S321 THE TEXTURED SURFACE Sunday Morning Mini-Session, 9:00 – 11:30 This seminar explores the textured surface and how it can be created through weave structure, yarn selection, finishing and presentation. Instructor’s examples are available for study. Supplies: None.
