I'm Wendy Hart Beckman, writer of future best-selling books. (Note, however, that I am not a professional web page designer.) I am a college instructor and an award-winning freelance writer.

My magazine articles have been published regionally and nationally (Writer's Digest, Cincinnati Magazine, M.D. News, Builder/Architect). My first book, Artists and Writers of the Harlem Renaissance, was published by Enslow Publishers, Inc., in 2002. Upcoming Events

I am conducting a one-day writer's workshop on March 27, 2004, in the Marcum Conference Center on Miami University's Oxford, Ohio, campus. "Learn How to Get Published (or at Least Get Started)" will guide the beginning writer through writers' block, identifying his or her genre, finding the markets, and formatting the manuscript. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $25. Email me at beckcomm@fuse.net for more information or to sign up. Only the first 20 participants will be accepted so that you may receive lots of personal attention. The first five paid registrants will receive a free book on writing.
I'll be giving a talk and signing my National Parks book at the Glen Helen nature center at 7 p.m. on March 31, 2004, in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
In May 2004 I will be addressing young writers at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.
In June 2004 I will be conducting a three-day writer's workshop at a beautiful mountain resort in Capon Springs, West Virginia. The cost is $450, which includes all instruction, lodging, and delicious meals.
